Program Support
Our Clubs come alive every afternoon, and volunteers help create the energy, curiosity, and connection that make this place special. With so many different programs happening each day, there is truly something for every interest and personality. Whether you love creativity, movement, learning, or simply being a steady, positive presence, you’ll find a role that feels natural.
Below are just a few examples of the ways volunteers support our members — but the possibilities are wide‑open.
Education and Career Support
Volunteers help create encouraging spaces where youth can explore learning, build confidence, and discover future possibilities. From homework help and reading time to technology, STEM, and teen career programs, this area offers many ways to support academic growth and spark curiosity.
Power Hour Help with homework one day a week or more from 3:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
Technology and Exploration

Teen Workforce Readiness
Career Launch helps teens explore future job paths through hands‑on activities, career discovery, and real‑world skill building. Volunteers support teens as they learn about different careers, practice workplace skills, and prepare for their first jobs or internships.
Club Scouts is our work‑based learning program where teens take on real responsibilities around the Club. Volunteers help guide youth as they learn professionalism, teamwork, and leadership through meaningful tasks and mentorship.
Money Matters teaches teens the basics of budgeting, saving, and making smart financial choices. Volunteers support simple activities and conversations that help youth build confidence in managing money and planning for their futures.
Character and Leadership Support
This area focuses on helping youth build responsibility, teamwork, and a strong sense of self. Volunteers support leadership clubs, group activities, and everyday moments that teach communication, decision‑making, and positive relationships — all while modeling patience and kindness.
Small Group Leadership Clubs
Torch Club is a small‑group leadership program for pre‑teens where members learn teamwork, service, and responsibility. Volunteers help guide youth as they plan projects, make decisions together, and build confidence as emerging leaders.Keystone Club is our teen‑led leadership program focused on service, academic success, and career exploration. Volunteers support teens as they take on meaningful projects, develop leadership skills, and strengthen their voice in the Club and community.
Positive Conversation Spaces
Inspire Them is a positive, teen‑focused program that creates space for meaningful conversations, goal‑setting, and personal growth. Volunteers help teens explore their strengths, talk through challenges, and build confidence in who they are becoming.K-Squad Circles are small, guided group sessions that help youth practice respectful communication and build trust with their peers. Using simple norms — like listening with attention, speaking from the heart, and taking turns with a talking piece — volunteers help create a safe, calm space where kids can share their thoughts, solve problems together, and strengthen social‑emotional skills.
Health and Wellness Support
This pillar focuses on helping youth build healthy habits, emotional resilience, and positive decision‑making. Volunteers support activities that promote movement, well‑being, and social‑emotional growth — from active play to calm conversation spaces where kids can practice coping skills and kindness.
Healthy Habits and Mindsets
Positive Action A social‑emotional learning program that teaches youth how to make positive choices and build self‑esteem.
L Group A mentoring group for girls under 15 that builds confidence, identity, and supportive peer relationships.
B Group A group‑based mentoring program for boys that focuses on life skills, emotional support, and character development.Project L.A.N.E. A wellness program that teaches youth positive Lifestyle choices, healthy Attitudes, good Nutrition habits, and the importance of regular Exercise. Designed to support balanced physical and emotional well-being, it helps members build lifelong healthy habits through fun, engaging activities. Our Turner Unit gym, the Lane Richards Gymnasium, is named in honor of Lane Richards, whose legacy is proudly celebrated by his widow, Karen Richards.*Running Club A fitness focused program that encourages healthy activity, endurance, and teamwork through group running (and walking!) and movement-based challenges.*Running Club Schedule by Site:

Kitchen Help
Supper is served daily after school, with preparation between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and serving from 3:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Line Leaders
The Turner Unit walks kids daily from neighborhood schools to the clubhouse. We are in need of volunteers to walk one day a week or more. Schedule aligns with school dismissal times.
Arts, Creativity & Imagination
Support hands‑on projects, crafts, and creative exploration. From painting to building to imaginative play, volunteers help spark curiosity and self‑expression.
Games Room & Social Play
Encourage fair play, teamwork, and connection through board games, group challenges, and friendly competition.
Events and Fundraisers
These roles are perfect for volunteers who enjoy planning, organizing, or supporting special events that fuel our mission. They’re great for people who want to help but may not be available during Club hours.
Great Futures Breakfast
Help us create an inspiring morning that brings our community together in support of local youth. Volunteers play a key role in making the event warm, welcoming, and seamless for our guests. Roles include Setting up tables, chairs, table covers, and decor. Serving coffee, water, and light refreshments, and bussing tables and assisting with event teardown, including folding tables, stacking chairs, and packing decor.
Golf Committee
We need volunteers to help us run our annual golf tournament fundraiser. We need individuals to help with registration, to sell raffle tickets and to monitor the holes for the various prize opportunities. Contact us
to learn more about how you can help. The next tournament will be held in May.
Auction Committee
We need volunteers to help us plan and execute our biggest fundraiser of the year. It takes the organization and tenacity of over 50 volunteers to pull off this big event. Be on a planning committee (options include decorations, solicitation, food/beverage, presentations, advertising, proof reading and more). You may also help the week of the auction, decorating, setting up and cleaning up. Contact us

Share Your Passion
Your passion can make a lasting difference. If you enjoy teaching, creating, building, or performing, there’s a place for you at the Club. Our volunteers bring their talents to life, inspiring kids to try new things and discover their strengths.
Volunteer Highlight: Sensei Ben Sanders
Through his Judo and Judonastics programs, Ben served two Clubhouses for several years, engaging over 70 youth and forming a competition team. His work exemplifies how sharing a passion can build skills, confidence, and community.
