SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
 

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula is pleased to offer the "Karen Byrd Memorial Scholarship" in memory of a local educator. High school seniors on the peninsula who will continue their education in a two or four year institution are eligible for a ane estimated $1,500 award. Any previeous recipient may reapply for a second award.

Academic Success
We offer 16 Boys & Girls Clubs of America national programs and 19 community programs tailored for the youth of our area. The Clubs deliver structured programs in three core areas: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character. 
 At-risk youth are tutored in subjects they are falling behind, especially algebra and literacy. Since we initiating Homework Club staff and volunteers assist and tutor our members.
We are proud to say every member who was a high school senior graduated on-time at both Clubs

Karen Byrd Scholarship

An eligible applicant is:

• graduating senior from 
Port Angeles or Sequim

Previous winner applying 
for second award.

• Maintaining a GPA of 2.0

• Prioritizing B&G Club members and demonstrated financial need  


Eligible candidates interested in applying must complete and sign an application form which includes a one page (or less) personal statement and brief answers to Club, school and community involvement. All applications must be received by April 5, 2025 deadline. The Clubs will request scholarship notebooks if available.
The scholarship recipients will be notified, and invited to celebrate with the organization at an upcoming board meeting. The recipient will be sent an award letter with instructions on how the award will be applied toward recipient’s tuition and fees upon enrollment.
