PROJECT L.A.N.E. WELLNESS PROGRAM

In 2025, we deepened our commitment to whole‑child wellness with the launch of Project L.A.N.E.—which stands for Lifestyle, Attitude, Nutrition, and Exercise. This innovative Healthy Lifestyles program weaves positive habits, wellness education, and emotional support into our daily programming.

By empowering youth to build strength, stability, and confidence, Project L.A.N.E. helps them navigate both today’s challenges and those ahead.

The program was launched in memory of Lane Richards by his family and friends. Before his passing in August 2020, he motivated countless people to embrace a healthy lifestyle with a focus on attitude, nutrition, and exercise.

To honor Lane’s lasting impact and the Richards family’s dedication to youth wellness, we are deeply proud to share that our gym in the Turner Unit in Port Angeles will now be named the Lane Richards Gymnasium.

While Lane is no longer with us, his commitment to supporting young people continues to inspire our work.

We are so grateful to have Karen still actively involved in bringing the vision Project L.A.N.E. exhibits to life.

RUNNING CLUB & UPCOMING MARATHON

Our Running Club is in full stride this season, offering fun, inclusive opportunities for members to stay active, build healthy habits, and work toward an exciting milestone: completing a full marathon distance together!

Marathon Goal: Completing 26.2 Miles Together

All Running Club sites are participating in the North Olympic Discovery Marathon at the Port Angeles City Pier on June 6th at 3:00 PM.

  • All ages from all sites are welcome.
  • Our goal is for members to complete 25 miles before June 6th, so that on race day, running the final 1.2 miles completes a full marathon distance.
  • This event will be a Boys & Girls Clubs field trip.
