We proudly announce that our annual auction, themed “We Grow Our Own,” raised a record-breaking $781,500 to support youth programs in the Port Angeles and Sequim communities allowing us to keep their membership fees an affordable $30 per year.

More than 400 community members gathered for the event, which transformed the Club into a breathtaking celebration of growth, roots, and community connection. The décor, inspired by the “We Grow Our Own” theme, was nothing short of extraordinary—lush greenery, local floral Recorarrangements, and vibrant displays turned the familiar Club space into a garden of inspiration and gratitude. The transformation reflected the night’s message: that the Boys & Girls Clubs nurture young people who grow into leaders, professionals, and caring adults who strengthen our community.

Guests were treated to an evening of heartfelt storytelling, powerful performances, and spirited generosity. The program featured a kid performance that brought the audience to their feet, a moving video highlighting Club alum, and an inspiring speech by former Club member Dominick Timperio, who shared how the Club shaped his life and helped him become the college graduate and teacher he is today. Timperio’s story served as a vivid reminder that the investment made in Club kids pays dividends for generations.

The excitement of the night continued with an impressive lineup of silent and live auction items, a Dessert Dash, and the always impactful Bids for Kids portion of the evening. Guests bid enthusiastically on everything from travel experiences and local art to gourmet dinners and adventure packages to support youth programs that provide academic help, mentorship, and safe spaces for children and teens.

The community’s generosity shone brightly during the fundraising portions of the evening. The Dessert Dash raised an impressive $27,933, as tables competed for decadent confections donated by local bakeries and dessert artisans. But the night’s most moving moment came during Bids for Kids, which brought in a staggering $500,800 to directly support life-changing programs for young people in Port Angeles and Sequim.

Adding to the excitement, board member George Brown inspired donors with a $100,000 matching gift, challenging the audience to dig deep for the kids who rely on the Club every day. The response was immediate and overwhelming—guests met the match and continued to give, demonstrating the profound belief our community has in the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs.

With all contributions combined, initial estimates show a record-breaking total of $781,000, the highest amount ever raised in the organization’s history.

Seeing our community coming together so passionately to invest in our kids was incredibly moving. Every dollar raised represents more opportunities, more mentorship, and more hope for the young people we serve. We couldn’t be more grateful.”

Funds raised from the event will support essential Club programs across both the Port Angeles and Sequim locations, ensuring that local youth have access to academic support, leadership development, nutritious meals, and positive adult mentorship. These programs play a critical role in helping young people thrive and grow into productive, caring, and responsible citizens.

As the evening came to a close, the sense of pride and community was palpable. Guests left knowing that their generosity will have a lasting impact on hundreds of children and families on the Olympic Peninsula.
